Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Hideout Weather ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
Description of Service
Hideout Weather is a desktop weather application for macOS that provides:
- • Precipitation nowcasting powered by PySTEPS
- • Live interactive radar maps
- • Hurricane and tropical storm tracking
- • NWS forecasts, alerts, and conditions
- • Hourly and 7-day forecasts with sunrise/sunset
NOT PROFESSIONAL WEATHER ADVICE
Hideout Weather is an informational tool, NOT a substitute for official weather warnings or emergency guidance from the National Weather Service.
Always follow official NWS warnings and local emergency management instructions during severe weather events.
Accuracy Limitations
- • Nowcast predictions are estimates based on current radar data
- • Forecasts originate from NWS and may not reflect rapidly changing conditions
- • Radar imagery may have latency or gaps in coverage
- • Hurricane forecast cones represent probability, not certainty
Prohibited Uses
You agree not to:
- • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- • Redistribute or resell the App
- • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- • Misrepresent nowcast data as official NWS forecasts
Intellectual Property
All content in the App, including but not limited to code, graphics, logos, and design, is the property of Hideout Weather and protected by intellectual property laws.
Weather data sourced from NWS/NOAA is public domain. The App's presentation and processing of that data is proprietary.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hideout Weather and its developers shall not be liable for:
- • Any damages arising from use of the App
- • Decisions made based on weather data or nowcast predictions
- • Inaccuracies in forecasts, alerts, or radar imagery
- • Service interruptions or data unavailability from NWS/NOAA
You use this App entirely at your own risk.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
